Fayetteville police continue investigating shootings that left one person dead and another in critical condition. Police say it all happened in the Lafayette Park neighborhood. Officers responded to several reports of shots fired of Knotty Elm Loop and Bending Birch Lane.

Once officers arrived on scene, they found two male victims. Jaquan McBryde, 19, was pronounced dead on scene. Paul Coleman, 18, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.

Police say they are actively investigating and interviewing community members in hopes of someone coming forward with new information. One resident told ABC11 he is considering moving out of the neighborhood because of the uptick in crime.

"It's time to go, man. I got kids in the family. This is wreckless. I mean, sometimes they shoot, but it's never been a murder," said Dennis McMillan.

Fayetteville / Cumberland County Crimestoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.

Anyone with any information regarding the homicide and shooting is asked to contact Detective J.
