Trooper's car damaged after chase near Durham Freeway

DURHAM (WTVD) -- A Highway Patrol vehicle was involved in a wreck Tuesday night following a chase.

It happened about 9 p.m. on westbound Interstate 40 near the Durham Freeway exit.

The front end of the trooper's car was damaged, and another car nearby appeared to be the vehicle the trooper was chasing.

That car also suffered damage, but it was not confirmed whether that happened as a result of the chase or whether the vehicle was damaged in a previous incident.

Authorities had no other immediate details, including injuries and possible arrests.
