RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Part of Six Forks Road in Raleigh is finally reopen after it had to be closed Sunday night due to a water main break.

Police said the water main break occurred just south of the intersection of East Six Forks Road and Anderson Drive.

Monday afternoon officials said the repair work was completed and service had been restored to all customers, but the road remained closed between Anderson Drive and Wake Forest Road while crews re-paved the area.

Work was complete by 12 a.m. Wednesday. Public Utilities told ABC11 it took a long time for the asphalt to dry because of the heat.

The work affected nearby businesses. A Burger King had to close and send employees home.

"We cannot run a business without water because it's a health department violation," explained District Manager Carlos Serratos. "We're just losing revenue, losing sales and stuff, and actually customers coming in and stuff. It's pretty big."
