911 calls show desperation during hurricane flooding
FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Desperation can be heard in people's voices as they called for emergency help while their homes quickly filled with water during Hurricane Matthew.
Some of them described being waist deep in the rising water while they tried to keep their kids' heads above it.

The Hollywood Heights neighborhood in Fayetteville was devastated from the flooding.
After the waters receded, peoples' possessions were now just piles of trash. On Tuesday, the sides of the streets were filled with furniture and plastic garbage bags.
Residents say the water rose 2-3 feet in some homes.
Like many of her neighbors, Helen Mouton did not have flood insurance and says there is really nothing to salvage. She says she's relying on faith and groups like Operation Blessing, a humanitarian organization.
"What I am doing right now is preparing work orders, take them back, so they can be assessed and numbered, and then get them out here," said Craig Jackson with Operation Blessing. "What's their greatest need? Oh they need everything. These folks are wiped out."
Recovery in the neighborhood is expected to be slow due to the need.
