'Crazy For You' coming to Duke Energy Center

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Kids with the North Carolina Theatre Conservatory are getting ready to put on their production of "Crazy For You" at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts.

For some of the actors it's their first time in a lead role. The production stars Carly Grissom and Josh Keen.

"Every role is really important and you always feel like there is a lot of weight on you but when you're a lead you feel even more pressure to be the greatest you can be," said Grissom.

Both are spending the summer training their voices and perfecting their dance moves in an intensive master summer theatre arts program with the North Carolina Theatre.

"I started taking like one class on Saturday. Then the next year I took two classes, and it stretched out to three, and now I come every day that I can," said Keen.

"I've learned so much and I've come so far since when I started when I was 8 years old," said Grissom.

Kids as young as three and all the way up to adults use the intense program to get them ready to reach their Broadway dreams.

"I want to move to New York City and do musical theater for the rest of my life," said Keen.

And now these two young actors hope you're just as crazy for them as they are for you to see the show.

"It is a great show for anybody of all ages to see. It is really funny and it's got Gershwin classic music in it and it's great dance numbers it's just an overall good show," said Grissom.
