She was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, where her family makes their home, and is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago. A die-hard Cubs fan, she spent the 2003 season working in the marketing department at Wrigley Field. She also interned for the medical reporter at her longtime favorite station, WGN News.
After much prayer and divine direction, she has come to make North Carolina her home, along with her husband, ABC11 reporter and weekend anchor Fred Shropshire.
