The bus was transporting 44 students from Fuquay-Varina Elementary School. The School bus driver and 44 students were checked at the scene by Wake County EMS and Fuquay-Varina Fire Fighters and had no reported injuries.
The driver of the Nissan pickup truck was treated at the scene by Wake County EMS for his injuries and released.
The crash was at the intersection of US 401 North Main Street and Wake Chapel Road. The driver of the Nissan pickup truck , Bobby T. Shepard was charged with an un-safe movement violation.
School Officials arrived at the scene and prepared a new bus for students that were not picked up by parents. The passengers that were not picked up by parents and the bus driver were transferred to a new bus and continued their route home.
