NC State's campus loses power

North Carolina State University regains power after hour and a half campus-wide outage.

Shortly after 6 p.m., a major blackout encompassed all of the main campus from Pullen Road to Gorman Street,from the Bell Tower to the McKimmon Center.

Campus Police Chief Barnwell confirms a transformer on Sullivan Road blew out, due to a squirrel.

No one injured during the 90 minute blackout.

Some people were stuck in multiple elevators across campus, no one hurt or admitted to the hospital.

The campus followed its emergency plan for power outages. According to Chief Barnwell, it went smoothly.
