According to the Wendell Police Department, Jo Miya Gabrielle Beckwith of Zebulon is being held in the Wake County Jail under a $51,000 bond.
She is charged with armed robbery and possession of firearm by a minor.
Police say they responded to a call in reference to a robbery around 5 a.m. Thursday morning. Upon arrival, officer observed the store owner, Faeq Rasheed Abdel Jawad with a subdued suspect.
Jawad told officers the girl entered the store wearing a covering over her face, showed a gun and then demanded money from the clerk.
Jawad then approached Beckwith from the rear and subdued her.
No one was injured during the incident.
