One person shot at Food Lion

CARRBORO

Monday night police found 59-year-old James Imonti of Carrborro in the paking lot of a Food Lioon located in the Carrboro Plaza on Highway 54.

He had been shot once in the back and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police arersted the suspect, 65-year-old Garland King, Jr. of CHapel Hill, at the scene.

According to police, the victim and the shooter knew each other and King shot Imonti after an argument.

Police say the men have had an ongoing family dispute for some time and Imonti is King's son-in-law.
