Charles Miller, 69, was found in his home in the 5800-block of Holland Street just before 2 a.m. Sheriff's deputies were called into investigate the scene shortly after that.
Miller's niece, Glenda Williams tells Eyewitness News her uncle was a retired military man and lived in the home for 40-years. He was well known in the neighborhood and owned Miller Plumbing.
Investigators consider Miller's death a homicide, but will not release a cause of death or a motive.
Miller leaves behind three sons and one daughter. One of his sons lived with him.
