The unthinkable has happened to a Girl Scout troop in Fayetteville.

Young girls and the parents of Girl Scout Troop 485 were robbed while they were selling cookies outside a Wal-Mart store on Skibo Road in Fayetteville Sunday afternoon.

One parent explained, "Something didn't feel right" when referring to the man she said was loitering outside the store for several minutes before he grabbed the cash box. The box reported contained $600 in cash from sales of that day. The parent said the man jumped into a waiting car and got away.

The money was to be used for a trip to Virginia later in the year.

Fayetteville Police are investigating.
