Crime Alert: Attempted abduction in Durham

DURHAM

Both incidents have occurred around 7:30 a.m. when the girl is going to school. The girl told Durham Police investigators a man driving a bright red car has pulled up to her and told her to get in the car with him. The girl refused and ran away. She told police the man spoke to her in Spanish and appeared to be coming from the area of Cheek Road.

Tuesday evening, Durham Police confiscated a car they think was used in the attempted abductions. Police spotted the car on Miami Boulevard and Holloway Streets. The man driving the car ran away.

Along with the two attempted abductions from a man in a red car, police are also looking for a man driving a green car. Police say the man followed a girl getting of her school bus at least three times near Jackson and Gerard Streets.

Police haven't said if the incidents are connected.

Anyone with information is asked to call Durham Police at 560-4281, CrimeStoppers at 683-1200.
