A judge sentencted Derry Schmidt to a 75-day suspended sentence, 25 days of house arrest and probation.
On February 1, Schmidt went to the Wake COunty Jail thinking he could serve the suspended sentence and avoid the rest of his punishment.
But he was wrong and the judge added another 10 days to his jail time. He held Schmidt in contempt of court because he refused house arrest when probation officers tried to set up monitoring devices.
Schmidt must also undergo a mental evaluation and take anger management classes.
