Eve Carson not forgotten

Carolina students have traveled to San Antonio with hopes of a championship victory, but they also carry with them memories of a classmate they've lost.

"A a lot of us feel like our team and our fans are playing for her," one UNC fan said.

UNC student body president Eve Carson was found shot to death last month in Chapel Hill.

Tar Heel cheerleaders and band members plan to bring a part of Carson's spirit to Saturday night's game at the Alamodome.

"We've all got Eve wrist bands that we're going to wear," band member David Steele said.

The bands are blue with the fallen student's name stitched in white. The wrist bands honor the young lady who loved everything Carolina.

"Eve had that kind of personality that made everyone want to do better and everyone wants to try harder and do the best they can at everything," one student said.

And that's what the Tar Heel players will do Saturday night as they too continue to wear patches and ribbons in memory of Eve.
