A high speed chase involving a speeding van and two local law enforcement agencies ended in a crash.

Orange County authorities were trying to track down a van that would not stop.

"It sounded like something was really bad," eyewitness Perry Coghill said.

Just down the road from his fruit stand on Highway 70 in Hillsborough, the crash could be heard for miles. Coghill's wife actually saw it happen.

"She said it was running real fast, about 100 miles an hour," Perry said.

It's unclear where the chase began and how long it lasted.

The Highway Patrol and Orange County Sheriff's deputies followed the vehicle for miles until the driver apparently slammed head-on into a car.

Emergency responders were on the scene immediately and one woman was injured.
