Pharmacist suspected of peeping at hospital

Smithfield Police investigators are looking into several cases of peeping allegedly involving a pharmacist who works at Johnston Memorial Hospital.Smithfield Police responded to a call of a prowler on East Stevens Street on Saturday night. When they arrived they walked up on Ben Pell, 58. He was found carrying a camera and walking from behind one of the homes on East Stevens Street.

Police say Pell, a pharmacist at Johnston Memorial Hospital, admitted that he was secretly videotaping his neighbor. Police later confiscated 240-tapes from his home. Investigators say the tapes include locations at the hospital, health clubs and beaches.

Pell has been charged with felony secret peeping and is in the Johnston County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
