Two separate cuts to fiber-optic cable in EMBARQ's eastern North Carolina service area today resulted in some service outages and in sporadic degraded E911 service across several counties.
The affected counties included Caswell, Granville, Person, Vance, and Warren.
All services were restored by about 3:30 p.m.
EMBARQ encourages everyone who may be digging along highway rights of way to call the national 811 Call Before You Dig number as far in advance of the digging as possible.
