Man tries to lure 8-year-old

RALEIGH

On May 19, the girl was returning home from school and was walking near the intersection of Southgate Drive and Purple Garnet Lane. She encountered an unknown adult male suspect in a silver-colored car.

The suspect attempted to lure the girl into the car by offering cookies. The girl immediately fled to her house.

The suspect is described as an African American male in his twenties or thirties, wearing a black baseball cap with a white "B" on the front and white designs on it.

The suspect was last seen driving the vehicle west on Southgate Drive. The make and model of the suspect's vehicle is not known.

Officals are alerting parents – especially those in the area surrounding the incident – are asked to remind their children of the potential danger posed by some encounters with strangers.
