School bus collides with other vehicles

CHATHAM COUNTY It happened in the Bear Creek community on Highway 902 around 3:30 p.m.

There were 30 - 40 students on the bus traveling from the Bon Lee School (K-8) at the time of the accident. Chatham County School officials say none of the students on the bus were seriously injured. Most were given ice packs for bumps.

Officials tell Eyewitness News the school bus was stopped with its yellow lights on to drop off a child when a van that was waiting behind the bus was hit from behind by a pick-up truck. The van was then pushed into the school bus.

A 15-year-old male in the van was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
