Bond, charges increased in DWI case

RALEIGH Raleigh Police arrested Francisco Martinez Tuesday after he was released from the hospital. The 30-year-old driver of Knightdale is in jail under a $500,000 bond. He went through the magistrate Tuesday night.

He's charged with DWI, three counts of death by motor vehicle (punishable up to 59 months each count) and driving without a license.

Police say Martinez was driving a van on the wrong way on the Beltline plowed head-on into a car Sunday morning near the Capital Boulevard ramp.

Three people in the car were killed: 26-year-old Guillermo Zintzun Jimenez, 21-year-old Dagoberto Zintzun Jimenez and 14-year-old Santiago Pascual Tellez. They were all from the Raleigh area.
