Two people shot, one fatal

RALEIGH

Around 8:30 p.m. Raleigh Police officers responded to a shooting at the intersection of Blount and Lee Street.

When police arrived they found a female dead from a gunshot wound on Lee Street. A male victim was also shot, but received non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses in the area say they heard five gunshots go off.

Two EMS units left the scene with lights and sirens shortly after authorities arrived.

Police say it is unclear whether the two people shot were the only two involved or if the gunman is on the loose.

Blount Street was blocked off and traffic was redirected to Bledsoe Avenue as officials investigated the scene.
