Residents angry about proposed tax increase

MORRISVILLE In the proposed budget, Morrisville is planning to raise its property tax rate to nearly $.44 per $100.

This comes on the heels of the county's 2008 property revaluation, which raised property values in Morrisville an average of nearly 40 percent.

Residents don't think it's fair.

"Morrisville does not have a lot of capital projects. They're not doing significant road improvements out Morrisville tax bills went up $600," Morrisville Resident, Jackie Holcombe said.

Town leaders say the last time they raised taxes was 8 years ago.

And they need the additional income to maintain services and quality of life.
