According to the /*Durham County Sheriff's Office*/, it received a call shortly after 1 p.m.
The suspect approached a home in Durham County posing as a delivery man.
A woman answered the door and told the man he had the wrong address, so he left but returned shortly. Upon returning to the home, he forced his way in, hit the woman and stole some items, including jewelry.
The woman was able to escape the home through the back door and screamed. A neighbor called 911.
Police advise residents not to open your door if you don't know the person on the other side.
The incident is under investigation and is being compared to another home invasion that happened nearby. However, it is not known if the two incidents are related.
