Johnston Co. man found in FL after shooting

SMITHFIELD, NC Authorities say the shooting happened late Friday afternoon at this house off Galilee Road in Smithfield. Johnston County Sheriff's officials say Julian Blankenship shot his wife twice, in the leg and mouth. She was transported to Wake Med. She is in stable conditon, and is expected to survive.

Investigators issued warrants for his arrest when they determined he fled the area.

Investigators tell Eyewitness News Blankenship was taken into custody by the Florida State Highway Patrol after a traffic stop around noon Saturday.

The process to bring Blankenship back to Johnston County is underway.
