Interstate Bandits arrested out of state

Two men identified as the Interstate Bandits were arrested in New Jersey and Alabama.

Officers arrested Malik Dillard on July 21 after a robbery at a bank in Edison, New Jersey.

The next day investigators arrested Zarqurous Lequis Sanders in a hotel room in Lincoln, Alabama.

Both men are suspected in connection with more than a dozen bank robberies dating back to May 8, 2008 along interstate highways in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, New Jersey and Maryland.

Five robberies were in North Carolina. They include Huntersville, Cary, Concord and two in Raleigh.

Additional suspects in the robberies have been identified and more arrests are expected.
