Wake County deputy rammed

Police manhunt in Wake County ends after a deputy's car was rammed.Around 3:15 p.m. police got a call about a suspicious vehicle behind Poplar Springs Church.

As authorities got on the scene a person rammed a female deputy's vehicle, disabling her vehicle. She is reportedly okay.

Following the incident, the deputy put out a description and Highway Patrol pursued the vehicle. At some point the suspect jumped and ran near Waterville Street off of Old Stage Road.

Garner Police and helicopter helped in the search. Officials issued a reverse 911 call to residents in the Eagle Ridge Golf Course neighborhood to alert them of the suspect on the run. Some neighbors in the area made calls to help.

Authorities searched the area and eventually caught 16-year-old Michael Raymond Schumpelt responsible for the incident.
