Power restored to Durham County offices

This morning the Durham County Administrative Complex, Judicial Building, and Department of Social Services offices on Main Street experienced a temporary power outage.

Power was restored to these locations around 10:10 a.m. The DSS office on Duke Street continues to experience a power outage. The County continues to work with Duke Power to restore power to DSS at Duke Street.

The Judicial Building building will remain closed Wednesday and court has been cancelled for the day. On Thursday, August 21, all courts will resume their normal hours of operation.

Duke Energy said as of 9 a.m., there are hundreds of outages in Chatham, Cumberland, Durham and Wake counties. For a detailed list of outages, click here.

Many areas of the Triangle also experienced flash flooding. According to reports, University Drive in front of K-Mart flooded and cars were flooded out at Garret Road and Old Chapel Hill Road.
