Man murdered outside Fayetteville home

Fayetteville Police are investigating the city's latest homicide. Police tell Eyewitness News that 37-year-old Timothy Cossgrove was murdered outside his home on Summerhill Road around 10:30 p.m. Friday.

When officers arrived, they discovered Crossgrove lying on the ground with gunshot wounds.

Crossgrove had arrived home and was exiting from his vehicle when he was approached by a suspect who attempted to rob him.

Sometime during the robbery he was shot. He later died from his injuries at Cape Fear Valley Hospital.

The investigation is on-going and no other information about the victim or suspect will be released at this time. No one else was injured.
