Mark Bowling is accused of plotting his wife's murder with his mistress. Rose Vincent pleaded guilty in February to shooting Julie Bowling inside Bowling's garage in December 2006.
Mark Bowling was out of town at the time of the murder.
In a plea deal, vincent agreed to testify against Bowling, The trial was moved to Pitt County after defense attorneys argued they couldn't get a fair jury jury pool in Nash County becuase of the notoriety of the case.
