Teen charged with attacking Cary couple

CARY Cary Police Captain Michael Williams tells Eyewitness News that 17-year-old Gavin J. Clevesy was walking home from a party, when he attempted to make an entry into a home on Edinburgh Drive.

As the home owner was unlocking the door, Clevesy allegedly kicked the door in and began fighting with the home owner.

The home owners wife came downstairs and she was assaulted as well.

She was able to run from Clevesy, who found her, then allegedly sexually assaulted and raped her.

While this was going on, witnesses saw what was happening and detained Clevesy, until Cary Police arrived, who placed him under arrest.

Clevesy is charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree rape, first-degree sexual offense, first-degree assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury and simple assault.

All are felonies with the exception of the simple assault charge. Clevesy is being held on a $2.5 million bond.
