Durham Police investigate stabbing

DURHAM When they arrived, the officers found a male lying inside the doorway at 401 Downing Street Apartment D.

It appeared that the victim had been stabbed in the abdomen, back and shoulder.

The male, whose name is not being released at this time, was transported to Duke Hospital where he is in serious, but stable condition.

Investigators believe that the male victim was stabbed inside his residence at 401 Downing Street Apartment H by several unknown subjects, during an attempted robbery incident.

The male victim stated that he heard a knock at his front door. He opened the door and three unknown subjects entered and stabbed him multiple times.

The male victim left his residence and received assistance from his neighbor.

The unknown subjects left in an unidentified dark colored vehicle. The incident is still under investigation and investigators do not have any motive or suspect descriptions at this time.
