Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Pamalee Drive near Blanton Road at approximately 8:55 a.m. Tuesday.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a black Volkswagen Beetle traveling from the direction of Bragg Boulevard, crossed over the median into on-coming traffic, hitting a black Pontiac Sunfire head-on.
The driver of the Volkswagen Beetle involved has been identified as 57-year-old Lawrence McKenzie.
The driver of the Pontiac Sunfire has been identified as 30-year-old Anthony James Campiti, and his passenger 21-year-old Andrea Holczer.
All three were transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Campiti passed away at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center as a result of the injuries he sustained in the accident.
No charges have been filed at this time.
