Officials say a bus from Wilsons Mills Elementary was taking students home, when a garbage truck slammed into it from behind. About 10 students were on the bus --number 2020.
Another vehicle was also involved in the accident.
Paramedics life-flighted the truck driver from the scene, but there's no word about his condition.
The Johnston County superintendent's office says three students were injured. They were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Authorities had to shutdown Highway 70 while they cleared the scene.
