Police search for movie theater murder suspect

RALEIGH At approximately 10 p.m. last night a masked suspect armed with a handgun approached the ticket booth at the Marquee Cinemas Theater at 10600 Common Oaks Dr. The suspect announced a robbery, and – during the commission of that crime – the manager of the theater was shot by the suspect. The manager, Mark Douglas Buhaug, 48, was transported to WakeMed and later died. The suspect fled the scene.

The case is being investigated by the Raleigh Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force, and detectives have obtained an arrest warrant charging 40-year-old Anthony Joseph Bimbo with murder in connection with the death of Buhaug.

Bimbo remains at large and should be considered armed and dangerous. He is white, stands about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 215 pounds. His photo is attached.

In addition to the RPD charge, the Wake Forest Police Department has obtained an arrest warrant charging Bimbo with a robbery with a dangerous weapon. WFPD will be the point of contact for further information concerning that crime, which occurred this morning.

Two additional suspects have been charged with murder in connection with the death of Buhaug. They are 18-year-old Jason Anthony Zilinski and 19-year-old Ryan Michael Becker. Zilinski and Becker are in RPD custody and will be transported to the Wake County Jail.

Anyone with information about Bimbo's whereabouts or other information that might assist the investigation of the case is asked to call the Raleigh Police Department's Detective Division at (919) 996-3555 or CrimeStoppers at (919) 226-CRIME.
