Cumberland County library suffers fire damage

The library in downtown Fayetteville is closed after a fire damaged part of the building.The flames broke out early Saturday morning.

The library's director says the building's security system alerted the fire department, who responded quickly.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

    The Headquarters Branch is asking for books to be returned to the other branches:
  • Cliffdale Branch at 6882 Cliffdale Road
  • East Regional Branch at 4809 Clinton Road
  • North Regional Branch at 855 McArthur Road
  • Bordeaux Branch at 3711 Village Drive
  • Hope Mills Branch at 3411 Golfview Road
  • Spring Lake Branch at 101 Laketree Blvd
