It happened in the 1700 block of Holloway Street near Raynor Street.
According to investigators, the pedestrian, an adult male whose identity is unknown at this time, was injured when he stepped into the path of car Lexus driven by Cheri Craun, 36, of Durham.
The pedestrian suffered head injuries and was taken to Duke University Hospital for treatment. Craun was treated at the scene for minor injuries caused by glass fragments.
No charges have been filed and investigators say there is no indication Craun was speeding.
