Matthew Long, 20, is being held at the Person County Jail. According to authorities, Long agreed to turn himself in and did so in Hillsborough Wednesday evening.
He is being held without bond.
Long was seen fleeing the scene of a fatal gun fight on South Main Street Monday.
He is accused of firing the shots that wounded Greg Pulliam and killed Fred Satterfield. At last check, Pulliam was hospitalized at Person Memorial.
Satterfield, 34, died from at least four gunshot wounds. Family members said Long may have been waiting for the father of six to come out of the courthouse.
Satterfield's mother and wife say the alleged shooter and the two victims have been fighting back and forth. Long allegedly shot Satterfield's truck and Satterfield beat up Long this past weekend.
