The Wayne County Sheriff's Office was notified of a sexual assault involving an 11-year-old girl. The incidents, although recently reported, took place between September and October of this year.
The suspect, James Sanders Tew, is known to the girl and her family.
The alleged incidents took place in the child's Wayne County home, but the report was originally filed in Johnston County.
After an investigation, authorities charged Tew with two counts of indecent liberties with a child. Additional charges are pending grand jury indictments.
