Deputies bust dog fight ring

ENFIELD They say when they arrived, they found about 20 people around a ring with two dogs fighting inside. All the men started running into nearby woods. Officers say they caught four before they could escape. Others were picked up by patrolling officers.

Three dogs were seized. Two of them were badly injured. Investigators also seized nine vehicles, weapons, and some marijuana.

Nine people total are charged. Charles Rives, 26, Osaze Addae, 35, William Harris, 33, Corey Sledge, 21, Anthony Wright, 33, Ervin Brothers, 30, Richard Robinson, 32, Scott Murphy, 28, and Vernon Perry, 42, are all charged with dog fighting which is a felony.
