Man now faces over 100 sex charges

Suspect accused of abusing sisters
FAYETTEVILLE

Thirty-nine-year-old James Parris of Fayetteville has been in jail since September 2008 for allegedly molesting an 11-year-old girl. Now, he is facing charges for committing some of the same crimes against her older sister.

Parris is now charged with 108 counts of sex crimes involving the girls.

Detectives added three counts of taking indecent liberties with a child, 36 counts of attempted first-degree statutory sexual offense and 36 counts of sexual act by substitute parent. Police say all of those crimes were committed against the oldest victim.

Parris allegedly arranged "cuddle time" with his victims and would touch them inappropriately. The offenses occurred on several occasions beginning in July 2002.

Parris is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $2.8 million bond. He is scheduled to appear court today on the additional charges.
