No sir, there's no drive-thru here

RALEIGH Just after 3:30 a.m., the driver lost control on Capital Boulevard and a hit a wall at the 24-hour diner. Witnesses say the man appeared inebriated and had difficulty walking.

Police say there was some damage to the brick wall and quite a bit of broken glass, but the vehicle didn't make it inside the building and nobody was seriously hurt.

Damage is estimated at about $1,000. The Waffle House won't be able to reopen until the damage is fixed.

Police have not yet released the driver's name or said what his blood alcohol level was.
