Store manager hurt in robbery

Police say an armed robber roughed up a convenience store manager Monday morning.It happened at the Short Stop store on Ramsey Street near Rose Hill Road.

Detectives say the manager was coming into work when the robber walked up to him and told him to hand over his money. The two struggled, and the robber's gun went off near the manager's head.

The manager was not hit by the bullet, but he has scrapes and bruises from the altercation. He was treated by paramedics at the scene.

Police are now searching the area hunting for the gunman. He was seen getting into an older model silver or gray station wagon.
