Health keeps Yow out a fourth time

RALEIGH The school issued a statement a couple of hours before the start of Sunday's game against South Carolina saying that she would be out again because of a low energy level.

The 66-year-old coach is battling a recurrence of the breast cancer she first was diagnosed with in 1987.

Assistant Media Relations Director Mark Kimmel said her low energy is something that has lingered since her initial absence from a Dec. 22. game at Columbia in New York.

Yow's symptoms also kept her out of home wins last week against Jacksonville State and Georgetown.

School officials say Yow's status for next Sunday's game at North Carolina probably won't be known until later this week.

Sunday's game was held at Reynolds Coliseum at 2 p.m.
