The Highway Patrol suggests drivers headed north take exit 191 to NC 56 to US 15 North to I-85 North at exit 202 to detour around the wreck.
Troopers say the truck driver fell asleep at the wheel, and that caused the crash. He escaped with minor injuries and a scratch on the forehead.
Charges are pending.
