Couple found dead in Moore County

ROBBINS. NC The Moore County Sheriff's Office told Eyewitness News they were called to a home on Plank Road around 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers found a married couple dead at the residence. However, investigators say they are not looking for any suspects.

The victims are identified as 43-year-old Rex Andrew Cockman and 49-year-old Margaret Harmon Cockman.

Investigators say one of the victims' wounds appears to be self-inflicted, suggesting a murder suicide.

A neighbor says she heard gunshots and screaming around 1:30 a.m.

The couple's daughter told Eyewitness News her mother shot her father, then, pointed the gun at her and told her she had to kill her too, because no one else could have her.

The girl says her mother then changed her mind, told her to run and shot herself.

Investigators haven't said what set-off the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
