Marine accused of beating wife expected in court

JACKSONVILLE, NC Authorities say 24-year-old Cpl. Jonathan Gould used a hammer to beat his wife, 26-year-old Erin Prince-Gould, then stabbed himself multiple times to fabricate a break-in at the couple's home.

Investigators said he later confessed to attacking his wife.

Onslow County officials say Prince-Gould remains hospitalized, but in a relase isssued Thursday they said her condition appears to improve daily.

Her friends have created a Website that is updated with her condition. The site also solicits donations to help her family with medical expenses.
