Need a job? Try census taking

The 2010 census may mean thousands of temporary jobs for North Carolinians. There may be as many as 5,000 jobs available in the Tar Heel state.

Census takers usually help update address lists and conduct interviews with residents in the community.

In order to apply for one of the jobs, you must be a U.S. citizen, have a valid social security number and pass a basic aptitude test.

Most of the jobs require a drivers license and use of a car.

Wages range between $10.25 and $15 an hour depending on the position.
