Police initially though he may have come to harm and were looking for a person of interest who used Putnam's debit card Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
Now, they say the person used Putnam's card with permission and the man is not a suspect in any way.
Detectives say they have credible evidence that Putnam has returned to Arkansas where he is from. In addition, they say the investigation has revealed that Putnam has had contact with friends and family members since being reported as missing.
The matter has now been turned over to the military and Arkansas Authorities.
