Shooting hospitalizes two men

FAYETTEVILLE A sheriff's office spokesman says the shooting happened just before 7 p.m. on Dunn Road and Plymouth Street in Fayetteville.

Authorities barricaded north Plymouth Street while investigators were at the shooting scene.

A witness, who arrived at the scene shortly after the incident, says she saw a man around 28 years old lying on the pavement. She says it appeared he was shot several times in the face and shoulder.

Eyewitness News learned the other person, believed to be a teenager, apparently made it up to the Eastover Fire Department to seek help. The fire station is located about two miles from the scene of the shooting.

The witness says the teenager was shot in the side. The injured were transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

A sheriff's office spokesman says it appears there was some kind of argument before the shooting.

They are not releasing the identity of the victims at this time.

Investigators are not saying if there may be others involved or if they have recovered any weapons.
